For anyone else who might come upon this, just pass the --no-quarantine flag on install: brew install chromium --no-quarantine

Open the terminal and paste the following commands.

xattr -cr /Applications/LibreWolf.app

xattr -cr /Applications/Chromium.app

Then ignore cask, and install it from the developer's web site.

oh, and in case of chromium it's just an easy way to have an almost auto updating version of chromium (:
